When Hemingway wasn’t writing, there was a good chance that he was fishing. One of the premier salt-water anglers of his time, Hemingway spent a great deal of time aboard his custom made fishing boat, Pilar.

From his homes in Key West and Havana, Cuba, Hemingway fished the Caribbean, and pioneered techniques to land prized catches with minimal damage from sharks. He took pride is his equipment and greatly respected the traditions and the art of sport fishing.
