Ernest Hemingway Marinades

While an African safari or a European tour may not be on you calendar for this year, there is a simple way to appreciate Hemingway’s appetite for life. These flavorful marinades are inspired by some of Hemingway’s favorite places around the globe: Bimini, Spain, Key West, Kenya and Idaho.

The Bimini marinade, with ginger, rice wine, soy sauce and garlic works well with chicken and fish, as does the Kenya flavor, with lemon and white wine.  Key West, while great with fish and chicken, works equally well with pork dishes, with papaya, champagne and molasses.  The Idaho marinade, with mesquite seasoning, garlic and smoked chile peppers can be used on your favorite cut of beef, as well as pork and chicken.  Finally, the Spanish marinade, with rosemary, red wine, and olive oil is a perfect match for lamb and chicken.
